Description

The TF-102A Delta Dagger and MH-65 Dolphin join the Series 7 Air Drops family as AD710 (TF-102A) and SE703 (MH-65 Dolphin).

The Convair TF-102A Delta Dagger was a two-seat trainer version of the United States Air Force’s first operational supersonic interceptor, the F-102A Delta Dagger, developed during the early Cold War to prepare pilots for high-speed air defense missions. Introduced in the late 1950s, the TF-102A retained the distinctive delta-wing configuration and internal weapons bay of the single-seat interceptor but featured a dual cockpit arrangement for instructor and student pilots. Although the aircraft carried reduced combat capability compared to the operational interceptor, it remained fully supersonic and capable of employing air-to-air weapons for training realism. TF-102As served with Air Defense Command units across the United States, training interceptor crews tasked with defending North American airspace against potential Soviet bomber threats.

The MH-65 Dolphin is a twin-engine, short-range rescue and recovery helicopter operated by the United States Coast Guard. Selected to replace aging HH-52A Seaguard helicopters, the HH-65A (later redesignated MH-65) brought modern avionics, greater speed, and improved all-weather rescue capability to Coast Guard aviation. The Dolphin became the Coast Guard’s primary short-range search and rescue aircraft, performing missions that include maritime rescue, law enforcement, drug interdiction, environmental protection, and homeland security patrols. Operating from shore stations and cutters across the United States, the MH-65 Dolphin has saved countless lives and remains one of the most recognizable and versatile helicopters in Coast Guard service.
