JETs Vol. 25-16/17: WB-57F Canberra

On 23 May 2025 the big wing Canberra joins the JE family. This release will feature multiple aircraft and a NASA WB-57.

The RB/WB-57 Canberra was developed from the B-57 tactical bomber and featured a significantly increased wingspan, larger more powerful motors, and 2 detachable pod-mounted turbojets.

Only 21 B-57s were converted into RB-57Fs, which were later redesignated WB-57F in 1968. The USAF retired the type in 1974, but NASA continues to operate 3 Canberra that serve as research aircraft.

The Canberra lands at 1200 US CDT on 23 May.
