Description
Welcome to the pre-release/order for Air Drops AD208-AD212. This new batch of Air Drops, and all moving forward, will now feature a larger piece of aircraft that is waterjet cut, and we’ve gotten rid of the clear capsule that previously housed the Drop. These changes equate to a thinner card but a larger piece of aircraft, and you can now touch the aircraft material. Additionally, we are now able to make Drops out of material that was previously too thick. Please note: special editions are fulfilled randomly and may be slightly larger or smaller than the pictured Air Drops. We posted an in-depth video to our Facebook page explaining these changes.
The official release date for these Air Drops is Friday September 6th, but you can pre-order them now. This listing will disappear on September 6th, and the remaining inventory for each Air Drop will be listed individually. AD208-AD212 will begin shipping on September 6th. All orders placed before the 6th will ship together. Additional pictures of material and special editions will be revealed on the 6th.
AD208 – Air Drops featuring tailplane skin cut from XX244 – a former Red Arrows Hawk that was previously released as a combo tag with the Folland Gnat. These Drops are all red.
AD209 – Air Drops cut from the right multifunction display off an RAH-66 Comanche stealth helicopter. This MFD was discovered at a boneyard with some SR-71 items. The internal bits had been removed. These Drops range from solid black (exterior housing) to gold to circuit boards. There are some neat special editions that will be randomly fulfilled.
AD210 – Air Drops cut from original PT-1 Trusty fuselage fabric. The PT-1 was a 1920s US Army Air Services Aircraft. Only 221 Pt-1s were built. This is very rare original inter-war aircraft fabric. Most of these Drops are green and some may have fragments of original stenciling or paint.
AD211 – Air Drops cut from 2 HUP-1 Retriever oil tanks. Only 32 HUP-1s were built. The HUP-1 featured horizontal stabilizers and vertical fin caps that were removed on later variants. The HUP-1 Air Drop is the only one this release that has Data Plate Air Drops up for grabs. Most of these Drops are grey/green and some are raw aluminum.
AD212 – Air Drops cut from F-20 Tigershark cockpit panels and parts. These parts, along with a complete aircraft and forward fuselage, were donated to a museum after Northrop stood down the F-20 program. These Drops were cut from spare cockpit parts that were part of the Tigershark program. Some appear to be used and/or flown while others look new or potentially mock-up or test parts used in the development of the F-20.
