Description
The Galaxy is back! We pulled this extremely popular release when we moved sites last year and are so glad its back in the line-up.
The Lockheed C-5A Galaxy is a massive strategic airlift aircraft developed in the 1960s for the United States Air Force to transport oversized cargo and heavy equipment across intercontinental distances. Designed and built by Lockheed, the C-5A first flew in 1968 and entered service in 1970 as the largest aircraft in the U.S. military inventory at the time. Featuring a distinctive high wing, a T-tail, and both nose and rear cargo doors that allow “drive-through” loading, the aircraft was capable of carrying tanks, helicopters, and other outsized equipment that could not fit in earlier transports. Early C-5A models experienced structural wing fatigue problems that limited their operational capability, but these issues were later addressed through a major wing modification program in the 1980s. Despite its early challenges, the C-5A became a cornerstone of American global air mobility, supporting operations ranging from the Vietnam War to humanitarian relief missions around the world.
JETs Vol. 26-09 is cut from C-5A 70-0459 and is offered in 6 variants all featuring original paint. The Green JETs are cut from interior skin while the rest are exterior skin. A Grey Color Printed tag features the Ryan Roadkill card art C-5 printed on a Grey tag.
