Description
The NASA T-38 Talon has been a cornerstone of American astronaut training since the early 1960s, embodying the close relationship between high-performance aviation and human spaceflight. Adopted soon after its introduction by Northrop, the supersonic trainer provided the speed, responsiveness, and systems discipline that mirrored many demands of space missions. Operated primarily from Ellington Field near Houston, the T-38 became indispensable for maintaining pilot proficiency, teaching formation flying, instrument procedures, and rapid decision-making under pressure. Over decades of service with NASA, the aircraft supported astronauts from the Mercury and Gemini eras through Apollo, the Space Shuttle program, and the International Space Station, logging hundreds of thousands of flight hours. Despite its sleek simplicity and Cold War origins, the T-38’s reliability and training value ensured its survival through multiple upgrades, making it one of the longest-serving jet aircraft in NASA history and a quiet but enduring symbol of astronaut readiness.
JETs Vol. 26-04 is a second edition release cut from T-38N 65-10352 (N910NA). This aircraft was scrapped in 2024, and we acquired the forward fuselage/cockpit section. The cockpit is slated for display/restoration. The tags for this release were cut from sections of fuselage aft of the cockpit that were cut away during the restoration process.
26-04 is offered in 2 variants: NASA White and Green and they ship on a card featuring art by BVR.
This release is limited to 200 total JETs.
We have released Air Drops AD707 in conjunction with this JETs release, and a NASA Combo includes a NASA White JET + an AD707 Air Drop. For more information about the Air Drop, visit its listing here.
