Description
Late last year we acquired a piece of aircraft from Timeless Aero (by way of The Helicopter Museum in the UK), and it’s material I’ve been very excited to work with: HH-43B Huskie. We wanted to set the scene for the Huskie, so we kicked off 2026 with the Skyraider – as the Skyraider (callsign Sandy) and Huskie (callsign Pedro) CSAR combo was legendary, and for aircrew who had a bad day over the skies of Vietnam, the Sandy/Pedro team was exactly what you wanted heading your way.
During Vietnam, rescue operations often depended on the rugged partnership between the Skyraider and Huskie, two aircraft whose designs dated from earlier eras but proved uniquely suited to CSAR (combat search and rescue). The Skyraider, a slow and heavily armed machine with long loiter times became the guardian of downed aircrews, orbiting low over hostile terrain to suppress enemy fire while directing rescue efforts by radio. Once conditions allowed, the Huskie would venture in at treetop height, its crews relying on exceptional hover control to pluck pilots from jungles, fields, or burning crash sites, often under fire. The combination of Skyraider firepower and Huskie precision saved hundreds of lives and set the standard for the more advanced rescue helicopters that followed, leaving a legacy of courage, coordination, and innovation in Vietnam-era air rescue.
JETs Vol. 26-02 is a very limited true collectible 104 JET run cut from a vertical stabilizer removed from HH-43B 62-4533, featuring card art by James Martin. 26-02 is offered in 5 variants: Silver Laser Etched, Silver Printed, DANGER, Black/Yellow, and Black/Yellow/Silver.
A CSAR Set includes: Silver Printed + DANGER + Black/Yellow/Silver
A Sandy/Pedro Combo includes: Black/Yellow + a JETs Vol. 26-01 Roundel Multi-color or Roundel Yellow.
Aircraft 62-4533 was constructed as a HH-43B and later converted to an HH-43F. It served with the legendary 40th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron in Vietnam and was later based at RAF Upper Heyford in the UK.
