Description

We're kicking off 2026 with a bang. If you recall, our first release of 2025 was an AD-5 Skyraider. We are pleased to continue the tradition with our first JET of 2026 - an AD-6 (A-1H) that was used by the USN, USAF, and the South Vietnamese Air Force! BuNo 134575, aka "Foo Foo Juice," was also featured as a 1/72 model kit by Hasegawa.

The Douglas AD-6 Skyraider was the second to last production model of the venerable Skyraider, entering U.S. Navy service in the mid-1950s as a more powerful and durable development of the original aircraft - featuring 3 dive-brakes and an increased loadout capability. Bureau Number (BuNo) 134575 was among the AD-6 aircraft produced during this period, serving during a time when Skyraiders bridged the gap between World War II–era piston aircraft and the jet age. Aircraft of this block went on to see extensive service with the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, and later in Southeast Asia, where the Skyraider earned a legendary reputation for toughness, accuracy, and the ability to loiter over the battlefield, cementing the Spad’s status as one of the most effective attack aircraft ever flown. Aircraft 134575 featured “Foo Foo Juice” nose art while in Naval service and also served with the United States Air Force and later the South Vietnamese Air Force.

JETs Vol. 26-01 is cut from a single wing belonging to BuNo 134575 in South Vietnamese Air Force colors that was originally purchased for a restoration project but not used.

26-01 is offered in 10 colorful variants and comes on 2 different cards by Ryan Roadkill - one featuring the aircraft in South Vietnamese colors and one in USN "Foo Foo Juice" markings.

Variants: Roundel / Tan*, Roundel Yellow*, Roundel Blue (solid blue tags), Roundel White (solid white tags), Roundel Multi-Color*, Stencil*, Green / Tan (camo tags), Tan, Green, Foo Foo Juice* (Navy card). All tags except for the "Foo Foo Juice" variant come on the South Vietnam card.

**Limit of 1 Roundel / Tan, Roundel Yellow, and Stencil per customer.**

*The Roundel / Tan feature roundel paint and tan paint. These are the highest contrast tags of the bunch and some have red paint as well. The Roundel Yellow feature portions of the yellow of the roundel and will have a tan or green background. The Roundel multi-color are a mixed bag. Many feature 3 colors and could be any combination of roundel colors and/or green and tan. The Stencil tags feature original stenciling found on access panels. The Foo Foo Juice are cut from the underside of the wing. Many are multi-color featuring a dark base coat and white/grey top coat. Some are solid grey. These are a neat mix of tags featuring card art with the AD-6 in USN colors.

A Spad Combo is available that comes with a Roundel Yellow and a Foo Foo Juice.

A Sandy Set is available that comes with one of each (all 10) priced at 35% off if purchased individually.

SHARPs: Last year we experimented with a new thing we call SHARPs (Small Handheld Aircraft Remnants and Pieces). They are fragments of material cut from the leftover bits of metal from production and come in a clamshell that houses a capsule with the piece inside.

They were quite popular and for 2026 many JETs releases will feature a SHARP that is automatically included with every tag purchased in the first 10 minutes after a release (max of 3, while supplies last). The first SHARP included with your JET order will be one that corresponds with that release; for 26-01 it will be an AD-6. Any additional SHARPs included with your order/s will be randomly fulfilled from our SHARPs stash. At the end of the year everyone who collects all corresponding JETs release SHARPs will be eligible for a free display for the SHARPs capsules.
