Description
The Snake! Our original Cobra tag cut from aircraft 66-15318 was hugely popular. Accompanying our second edition UH-1 Fox 9 JET is a second edition of this Cobra featuring all new tag and card art by Ryan Quickfall.
AH-1G 66-15318 was delivered to the US ARMY in 1967 and arrived in Vietnam in 1968. In October of 1969, while on a Close-Air-Support mission, the aircraft was hit by an RPG, forcing the crew to land. The Cobra was later sling load flown back to base. After returning to the US, “318” was upgraded to an “S” model and arrived at Fort Rucker in 1981 to serve as a flight school aircraft. In 1994, 318 was redesignated an “F” model and served with the Arizona National Guard until May 2001. At the time of its retirement, 66-15318 had logged over 7000 flight hours.
JETs Vol. 25-39 has been cut from a tail boom removed from 66-15318 prior to its F upgrade and is offered in 5 Variants: Stencil, ARMY, Green, Driveshaft, and Inner Green. The Stencil have been cut from a small remnant of yellow tail numbering we had left over from the first edition. The ARMY have been cut from the ARMY stencil on either side of the fuselage. These come with all new laser etched art.
Please note that some of the ARMY JETs are more subtle than others.
A Snake Combo is available that comes with a Green JET and an AD606 Air Drop that has been cut from the same aircraft.
Additionally, a Huey/Cobra set can be purchased that comes with a Cobra ARMY JET and AD606 Air Drop + a UH-1 (Vol. 25-38) Green Planform JET and an AD607 UH-1 Air Drop.
