The “missile with a man in it” entered service in 1958 and served as both an interceptor and tactical fighter - later becoming an important Cold War aircraft for numerous allied air forces around the world.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJETs Vol. 26-26 has been cut from a wing removed from F-104A S\/N 56-0784. This aircraft served with several U.S. interceptor units, including the Arizona Air National Guard’s 197th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron. During the Berlin Crisis of 1961, 56-0784 deployed with the 197th to Ramstein Air Base, West Germany, where the squadron stood air-defense alert as part of the American reinforcement of NATO.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eJETs Vol. 26-26\u003c\/strong\u003e is offered in 7 variants: Grey, White, USAF (cut from the USAF stenciling), Roundel Blue, Roundel Red, Blue\/Grey, and Red\/White\/Blue.
