There is no release like a Hustler release. The number of inspiring aircraft being developed during the late 50s and into the 60s is remarkable… and that’s just the stuff we know about. At the forefront were companies like Convair, North American, and Lockheed. There were so many quirky, fast, and wild designs that never made it past the mock-up stage that we’ll sadly never know about. My favorite aircraft were born of this era, and there will never be another like it.

The Convair B-58 Hustler was developed in the 1950s to replace the B-47. It was designed to fly high and fast to avoid Soviet missiles. The original design only carried a single bomb in a pod. Later mods to the aircraft included hardpoints to allow for greater capacity. Due to rapid advancements in Soviet surface-to-air missiles, the B-58 was forced to adopt a low-level attack penetration run, which drastically reduced its range and capabilities. This, along with its high operating cost, led to its early retirement. A total of 116 B-58s were made and 26 were lost in mishaps. The type was only operational for a decade.

Vol. 25-05 and Vol. 25-06 represent our second Hustler release. Our first, cut from 60-1122, sold out quickly, and since that release I have been itching to do another – for all the reasons above, and the fact that we’re talking the B-58 - an aircraft that despite serving for only a decade still captures the heart of all aviation enthusiasts.

Vol. 25-06 JETs are entirely stainless steel and are offered in the following variants: Planform (top-down art), Frontal (frontal JET art), Thick (JETs with additional structure), and STAB (cut to the shape of a B-58 vertical stabilizer). All are laser etched and have a beautiful blueish/pink finish.

Sets/ Combos:

Atomic Set: 61-2060 STAB + 61-2053 Planform + 61-2060 Air Drop + 61-2053 Air Drop

Vol. 25-06 is extremely limited with 140 total JETs available.
