Welcome to JETs Vol. 25-04 - A very limited release tomorrow consisting of 101 JETs cut from A-1H Skyraider BuNo 139700!
The Skyraider:
Designed during World War II to meet U.S. Navy requirements for a carrier-based, long-range dive/torpedo bomber, the Douglas Skyraider was a piston-engine attack aircraft that entered service in the mid-1940s.
Nicknamed "Spad" after the French World War I fighter, it became the backbone of the Navy's strike operations during the Korean War, with the first ADs launching from Valley Forge on July 3, 1950.
The airframe also saw action in Vietnam in the mid 1960s. Its impressive weapons load and 10-hour flight range far surpassed contemporary jets at the time, allowing it to remain in frontline service well into the early 1980s.
The JETs
A-1H Skyraider BuNo 139700 is a Vietnam combat veteran, and the JETs were cut from AERO 14D Weapons Racks, which were fixed to the outboard wings. These racks/pylons could carry bomb or rockets, and for some special missions, toilets.
Due to how limited this release is, and the number of different finishes and stencils/stamps/etc, there will not be an option to select a variant. Many JETs are white or raw, but a large number also have decals, stamps, stencils, holes, etc. Fulfillment will be totally random.
There is an option to buy a single JET or buy one with an Air Drop 9AD316) cut from the same material. If you'd like to buy the combo choose the "JETs/Air Drops Combo" from the drop down menu. If you'd like to buy the JETs only, choose "JETs only (no Air Drop) from the drop down menu. For more information on the Air Drop, please visit its listing on the Air Drops page.
Again, only 101 are available for sale. Don't miss out on an opportunity to own a piece of combat proven metal cut from a remarkable aircraft.
